About the Author
Matthew Swanson and Robbi Behr are the author/illustrator, husband/wife duo behind Ten Thousand Stories (Chronicle Books, 2013) and more than 60 illustrated books for children and adults. They run two small publishing companies and a letterpress shop out of their home/barn/studio in Maryland, teach and speak on creativity and collaboration, and have three small-but-obstreperous children.

This book offers hours of reading joy for older siblings and parents! Such a great gift for any new or soon to be big brother or sister, filled with beautifully observed humor and richly illustrated, this book will continue to be a hot item on the bookshelf. Swanson and Behr are unique talents who are able to channel the experience of children both verbally and visually.
It is a rare book that is a joy to read and re-read with a little one, this is that book. A must own!

Babies Ruin Everything....but there's hope....

Babies Ruin Everything is wonderfully written, my grand-daughter loved it (she has a new baby brother). The writing is not only good for a kid her age, but wry and grown up enough for an adult like me to read more than once. The illustrations are amazing. Loved it!

who is four and happens to look a good bit like the main character

We just picked up this book for a friend having a second child to read with her daughter, who is four and happens to look a good bit like the main character. She *loved* the book. She thought it was hilarious, and it was also a useful jumping off point for her parents to talk with her about what would be different in their house when the baby arrived. We've ordered a half-dozen more to give to friends and relatives expecting kids.
