This was a good serviceable book

This was a good serviceable book. It held my attention and right up to the end, I guessed wrong who the killer was. It wasn't boring at all. However, it lacked the zany charm of her earlier books. I hope this isn't a sign she is winding down on the series. I missed her goofy relatives and family friends such as Dr Smoot, Mrs Fenniman, her brother's eccentric genius friends, Extreme Croquet, etc. I even wish she'd bring back the dipso crazy cat lady from Murder with Peacocks. A baseball setting seemed a bit tame. There wasn't enough of Michael. He was basically a glorified baby sitter (yes, he was an asst. coach for the kids' team, but he was mostly there as an accessory) I hope Donna's next book brings back some of the looniness her readers so love! I would be so thrilled if the dipso cat lady turned out to be a long lost relative whose involvement amusingly mucked things up a bit,
